Overview
Kofta is the popular luscious dish from Uttar Pradesh. The dish is also served in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Israel, Turkey and Iran. There the balls in the dish are made of pork, beef or chicken. Here in India, Kofta is a vegetarian dish, the balls are made out of paneer, potato or banana. It is paired up with hot boiled rice.
One of the famous dishes from UP, kofta is treated as another vegetable here. It is served along with other dish items during lunch and dinner times. The fried potato or paneer balls are dipped in spicy and delicious curry or gravy. The dish is prepared in almost all parts of the state. One can also enjoy it in Uttrakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
