Karthigai Deepam, Tiruvannamalai Tamil Nadu India

One of the important festivals of Tamil Nadu India is the Karthigai Deepam Festival. Every year it is celebrated in the Karthigai month. Lord Shiva is worshiped. The celebrations of the festival takes place at the Tiruvannamalai Temple of the state.

Lamps made of mud are lit in houses and in the temples. The lighting of lamps gives a divine look to the temple. At the top of the hill a huge deepam is lit which is visible from miles away. A huge lot of devotees come to visit the temple during this festival.
