Unforgettable days in Kerala

Day 1- Kerala, Gods’ own country. It was a trip with my husband right after our wedding. We went to Kerala three years ago in the month of October. We hired a car for our entire trip. It took around 4 hours from Delhi to reach Cochin (by air). From Cochin we went to Munnar by road. We reached Munnar in the evening. The day ended with the amazing terrace party.

Day 2- Munnar is a beautiful hill station. The morning view from the hotel (Hotel Misty Mountain) was awesome. Tea gardens are the main attraction for the tourists. We went to a Tea garden in the morning. The garden can be seen with the help of a elephant ride. The elephant ride was exciting. A little shop sells tea, coffee and beauty products. The food was delicious. The day ended by walking through the local market of the city.

Day 3- After Munnar we went to Kovalam. Exotic beaches and beautiful hotel took away my heart. We stayed in Hotel Uday Samudra. the hotel has got beautiful property. Uday samudra in itself has many attractions for tourists. The welcoming ceremony made us feel special. The reception areas , pools are eye catching. Spa, pool side restaurant were the best of all. There is a small shop inside the hotel and a parlour too. Beach view from the rooms’ window was fabulous. again the food was good.

Day 4- After breakfast we had a beach walk. While capturing the memories we enjoyed the beauty of  the Kovalam beach. Then we visited some local city attrction like a churuch at Kovalam city. Zoo, Museum and Art Gallery, a must go for families especially with kids. The day ended with candle light dinner at kovalam beach.

Day 5- Our driver anna then took us to one of the most beautiful place we have been to i.e. Alleppey, Back Waters. Alleppey is the most wonderful place we have been to. One must take experience of such a place atleast once. We hired a private house boat. The boat had one cook and one captain. It had a kitchen, room with attached washroom and an open living room equipped with a LCD and DVD player and a small 2 chair dining table. The view from boat was something we can never forget. Water everywhere. Driving our house boat was a mesmerizing experience. City was based on either side. There were big house boats too which were shared with 2 more families.  Few other boats were the medium of transport for students to their school, college, for working people to their offices and for other locals. The entire city on water just amazed us. It was dawn, around 6 pm, the captain took the boat to the shore. The day ended while eating tasty food made by our cook.

Day 6- This morning we left the boat and reached Cochin. Our flight from Cochin to Delhi took around 4 hours.

These six days in Kerala are the ones, we cherish thereafter. A must go getaway. Do not plan Kerala without Alleppey. Alleppey is like cherry on the cake.
